The President of CONMEBOL, Alejandro Domínguez, and Dr. Osvaldo Pangrazio, President of the Medical Committee and Director of the CONMEBOL Anti-Doping Unit, met this Friday 21/02 with Dr. María Teresa Barán, Minister of Health of Paraguay, in order to coordinate the health aspects of the 75th Ordinary FIFA Congress, which will be held in Paraguay on May 15, 2025.
This meeting is key to ensure that all the necessary health and logistical needs are covered to receive more than 2,500 people, including international delegations, special guests, FIFA representatives, media and soccer legends, who will gather in Asunción for this prestigious event.
“Together with the CONMEBOL team and the health authorities, we are working to guarantee an event with the highest standards of prevention and well-being, taking care of the health of all attendees”, emphasized President Domínguez.
Asunción has been selected by the FIFA Council to host the 75th Ordinary Congress, making Paraguay the fourth South American country to host this important event, after Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
Hosting the Congress will have a significant impact on Paraguay’s economy and infrastructure. It is expected to boost key sectors such as tourism, hospitality, transportation and gastronomy, in addition to generating employment growth in Asunción and the surrounding areas.
The 75th Ordinary FIFA Congress is the result of a joint effort between the Government of the Republic of Paraguay, FIFA, CONMEBOL and the Paraguayan Football Association (APF). This collaboration is essential to ensure the success of the great event.
