The 2014 World Cup trophy comes to Brazil after traveling around the world

The 2014 World Cup trophy came back to Rio de Janeiro after its tour of some 80 countries between the months of September 2013 and April this year.

The 2014 World Cup trophy came back to Rio de Janeiro after its tour of some 80 countries between the months of September 2013 and April this year.

It will be displayed until Friday, April 25 at the legendary Maracana stadium, site of the WC final on July 13. Those who wish may view the trophy from 9:00am to 9:00 pm.

After passing through Rio de Janeiro, the trophy of FIFA will travel to the other 26 Brazilian capitals. This month it will visit Porto (April 26 and 27), Belo Horizonte (April 28 and 29) and Salvador (April 30 and May 1).

In the first half of May the World Cup will depart for Cuiabá, Curitiba, Florianopolis, Campo Grande, Goiânia, Vitória, Aracaju, Maceió, João Pessoa, São Luís, Palmas and Macapa.

Finally, the trophy will be on display in Boa Vista, Rio Branco, Porto Velho, Manaus, Belém, Teresina, Natal, Recife, Fortaleza and finally in Brasilia on May 27 and 28.

The trophy ends its world tour in the city of São Paulo, where the opening ceremony and first game of the World Cup will be held on June 12. It will remain on display there between May 29 and June 1.
