Without their star Lionel Messi, Argentina won 2-1 over Chile in the debut of both in the Copa America Centenario.

Midfielder Angel Di Maria opened the scoring after 50 minutes, Ever Banega extended the lead in the 59th minute, while Jose Fuenlizada pulled one back for Chile at 9+3.

The match was played in Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California before 69,451 spectators.
