Boca Juniors will face Arsenal today, Wednesday, in the decisive match for the South American "Recopa" (Cup Winners' Cup). The match will take place at the "Bombonera" stadium in Buenos Aires. Boca will try to reach the record of 18 international titles possessed by AC Milan of Italy. Boca Juniors and AC Milan were equal until December, in the quantity of 17 international titles in competitions organized by CONMEBOL, UEFA or FIFA and they faced each other in the final of the World Cup of Clubs in Japan, where the Italian formation imposed itself by 4-2.

Boca Juniors solved the first leg match with a comfortable victory (3-1) for the South American "Recopa" (Cup Winners' Cup) of football before Arsenal of Sarandí , in its insatiable search of international titles, decorated by a record striker, Martin Palermo. The Boca forward scored his goal number 194 with his club's jersey, a mark achieved by Francisco 'Pancho' arallo in 1939 as the maximum striker of the club since Argentinean football turned professional in 1931.

The South American Cup Winners' Cup (Recopa) started to be disputed in 1989, between the Libertadores Cup Champions and those of the "João Havelange" Supercup, the two continental tournaments of CONMEBOL at that moment. After the Supercup was no longer disputed, the Recopa restarted in 2003, facing the Libertadores Cup and the South American Cup winners.
